Introducing
your child to Nursery:
On
the first "pre-visit", you will be able to talk to the staff in your child’s
room and learn in more detail, the activities that he/she will be involved in. The
staff will be able to ask you questions about your child’s routine and likes
and dislikes. This will enable your
child to settle into the Nursery as smoothly as possible. You are then invited
into the office where the Manager will give you a policy pack and answer any
questions you may have, and will arrange a second visit. At
your second visit you can leave your child in Nursery for up to an hour and a
half and if you would like a further visit, this could last up to two hours. All
of these visits are free. On
the first day a member of staff that you are familiar with, will greet you and
then once your child is settled with her, it is best to say good bye and
reassure your child that you will return. Please feel that you can ring as often
as you like in the first week or so, as this will put your mind at rest, and
will also enable us to reassure your child that you called. It is quite common for children to cry in these situations, and the staff will do their best to comfort and settle your child, although the settling in period could take a couple of weeks. If on a rare occasion a child were so distressed, then we would not hesitate to contact you. For More Information Contact:
