Introduction In
June 2001 a new extension was opened allowing the downstairs room to be
registered for two and a half to four year olds, bringing the total number of
children in the Nursery to forty. As
with Farm View Day Nursery, Meadow View is situated in a rural location, with
just a short distance between each Nursery. The
children have a garden in which to play and grow plants and there are Nursery
pets to care for. Both
Nurseries are open for 51 weeks of the year Monday to Friday, closing for all
Bank and Public Holidays and at Christmas for one week. Meadow View Day Nursery is a part of Farm View Day Nursery Ltd. Staff
information The
proprietor of both Nurseries Mrs. Alison Crocker, takes a keen interest
in the Nurseries both with the staff, children and with their parents.
Alison likes to involve herself in a practical way, enjoying spending
time with the children and staff within the working environment. The
ratio of staff to children who are two and a half
to five years of age is one: six.
In the two and a half to four room there are two qualified Nursery Nurses
and two Nursery Assistants working with twenty four children.
Upstairs in our 4-5 reception room, there are two qualified Nursery
Nurses and one Nursery Assistant, caring for sixteen children.
Making our ratio’s of staff to children one:six, allowing for
your child to work individually
or in small groups, as well as being able to enjoy large group activities. Parents
are asked to provide:
It is very helpful to us if all your children’s clothes, shoes and Wellington boots are labeled clearly with your child’s name. As I am sure you will appreciate that many children wear the same or similar clothes to each other which can become quite confusing! Developmental
records: It is the intention of the Nursery to keep and maintain development checks on each and every child who attends the Nursery. This is helpful to both us and the parents, as we are able to find any areas of weakness or strength that each child has, enabling us to work together with the child and their parents to be sure that they will reach their own full potential. These development records are also useful for informing your child’s future school of their abilities. Parents will continually be informed of their child’s progress.
